Overall Concept:
The main task was to create a creative and expressive space to showcase unique collections of Ukrainian clothing brands. This meant that the design needed to reflect the identity and creativity of Ukrainian designers.
The space was large (495 m² two floors), and the design had to maintain an open and functional layout that enhanced the overall experience.
Materials and Budget:
One of the key objectives was to stay within the budget despite the size of the premises. Therefore, cost-effective yet high-quality materials, such as poured concrete floors and restored concrete walls, were used.
Complex finishing work was avoided. Instead of covering the ceiling with drywall, it was left exposed, emphasizing functionality while adding an industrial charm, which also helped reduce costs.
Exposed utilities, painted black, enhance the industrial style, supporting the minimalist and modern look while maintaining a sense of spaciousness.
The contrasting color palette, especially the use of deep purple accents on the walls and floors, adds creativity and draws attention to the central reception area, making it a standout design feature.
Multi-functionality:
The lighting system, with adjustable track lighting, provides flexibility to shift focus depending on changing collections and displays. This is essential for a store where clothing presentations can vary frequently.
The use of planters and green elements near the reception adds a touch of vitality and brings a natural, organic feel, connecting with the Ukrainian theme of nature and sustainability.
The design of the store KOMA was crafted with functionality, cost-efficiency, and a modern industrial aesthetic in mind, with bold accents reflecting the creativity of Ukrainian designers.
