The project involves minimal intervention in the existing terrain, as the rock formations in Cyprus are very dense, making their removal a challenging and costly process in most cases. We created three main volumes: the first is a parking area for tourists and auxiliary facilities, including restrooms; the second is at the mountain's peak, where the cathedral is located for prayers and gatherings; and the third is a space for the monks’ needs, including a living area, dining room, reading room, meeting and conference rooms, and more.

The uniqueness of this monastery lies in the combination of spaces and the use of extended zones. We utilized the roof to create a walking park that offers breathtaking views of the sea and the mountains of Cyprus, allowing tourists to take photos. We used walls with arches for vertical landscaping and organized rest areas under trees around the perimeter of the cathedral. This is especially important in Cyprus' hot climate.

Thus, we separated the flow of people: those who came to enjoy the beauty of the landscape and those interested in visiting the souvenir shops. We organized a logical sequence of actions for visitors: they park, ascend to the top, visit the cathedral, relax outdoors, descend, buy souvenirs, and depart. This allows us to efficiently organize the space and ensure a comfortable experience for visitors, while also increasing the efficiency of service.
